Simply Elegant: Acquaintance Party :)

July 21, 2012 marked the event of the Technology Communication Management's (BS-TCM) Acquaintance Party, with the theme “Simply Elegant”. The event was held at the Dynasty Court Hotel, 6th floor Emperor hall. Everyone was gathered to witness the Mr. and Ms. TCM 2012. Jim Miguel Edmilao and Apple Francisco were the emcee's of the said event. It all started with an invocation that was lead by the chosen 3rd year students, and followed by an opening remarks of Mr. Don Lagura – Head of the AIRO. The judges for the Mr. and Ms. TCM 2012 were Dr. Maristela Binongo-Sy, Dr. Ramir Sonsona, and Mr. Don Lagura. Everyone is beautiful and so elegant; everybody stood up in their own simple get-up's.

Okay. I would like to thank my friends for letting me borrow their cute stuffs; Miss Rey-ann Sales for the very cute dress, and Miss Allaine Mariveles for the belt. I would also like to thank myself for my very amazing, cute footwear – The Melissa Wedge. Without those stuffs, I won't look adorable and beautiful that night. (hahahaha!)

I forgot who took this photo. I just love that smile. :)

The seniors really enjoyed the party. That would be their last to attend an Acquaintance party, because they will ramp on stage nextyear for their diplomas. How I wish I could be with them; tsss. Di kaya eh! I still have my back-subjects. But it's okay, I will be the next in line. I can beat them. (HAHAHA) Seriously, I'm gonna miss them all.

Let's go back to Mr. and Ms TCM. Miss Gellie Grace Valmoria and Neal Rendal were the lucky ones. They are both in the senior level. And that is really a great opportunity for them. Bring it on, Seniors! :) They will represent for the Mr. and Ms. CAS 2012, and hopefully they can make it to Mr. and Ms. MUST 2012. :)

That was really a memorable night. :)

Rappler: Life & Style

I read an article on Rappler which was written by Anna Oposa. The article explains the things that you should know about an advocate and why do they love this kind of craft. This is basically a true story about Anna, sharing her thoughts about dating an advocate.

Advocates are really passionate.

International conferences are breeding grounds for flirtationships*
*  We don’t make a lot of money, but we make a lot of good friends
Our schedules are strange, relatively flexible but unpredictable
We care about what you think
Advocates are powered by passion

You can read the whole  article here Things you should know before dating an advocate

I even followed Anna's blog,  http://annaoposa.ph/ GO and follow her! :)

The reason why I wanted to stay in Canada - Avril Lavigne :)

She became my inspiration since my elementary years and up until now. Yes, she may not look like a perfect inspiration for some, because some of her songs back then weren't good to our ears and the way she dress up is also part of the intrigue. Avril, changed her lifestyle in this new generation; she became very pretty, elegant, and so glamorous. She isn't like before who cannot even wear a dress and heels, but now, she would hate herself if she can't have those stuffs. As what the cliche goes, change is the only permanent thing here on earth.

Here is Avril's biography.

Avril Ramona Lavigne, born September 27, 1984, grew up singing in church. She signed with Arista Records in 2000 and released her debut album, Let Go, in 2002. Thanks to hit singles "Complicated" and "Sk8er Boi," the record sold more than 15 million copies worldwide.

Born Avril Ramona Lavigne on September 27, 1984, in Belleville, Ontario, Canada. For more than a decade, singer Avril Lavigne has enjoyed huge success with her punk-influenced pop sound. She has also branched out in new directions over the years, including starting her own fashion line.

Lavigne sang all the time as a child, much to the chagrin of her two siblings. Raised by deeply religious parents, she first started performing in church choirs. Lavigne learned to play the guitar, and began composing her own music as a teenager. At first, she reportedly focused on country music. Lavigne, however, eventually changed her tune. Leaving high school, she went first to New York City and then to Los Angeles to work with Arista Records.

Maria Ressa: Talk the walk

When it comes to Maria Ressa, I would really make an effort to read her articles; even if it takes an hour or a day. I visited Rappler.com today and read her Talk the walk article. It focused on - Corruption. Those politicians who are engaging into bribery, those people whom we voted to stand on the Philippines; but we never knew the real side of them. Our country won't really grow if people are getting hooked with corruption. I want you to read Talk the walk and learn something out of what Maria Ressa shared.

"There are some simple truths. The more you say no, the easier it becomes. The more you do the right thing, the harder it is to do the wrong thing. It’s a tipping point approach to building your identity."

" Cheaters don’t think they’re cheaters. Corrupt people don’t think they’re corrupt. Evil people don’t think they’re evil." :)

HAPPINESS :)

I got this photo from Facebook.
Really, worrying is no good. There are lots of things to worry about, lots of ideas to ponder, and things that needs to be achieved. Each moment and each day should be made with happiness.

I just posted this kind of stuff because I wanted to feel the essence of "stress relief." I have been through difficulties the past few days, and to think that those things weren't good for me. My creative writing instructor, mentioned good things this morning. She has always been a part of my relief.

I got some Happy Quotes from Google. You can check it out! :))

Patricia's Winning Piece :)

I would like to share this essay that was written by Patricia Evangelista. She is a writer, debater, and storyline producer. She is working with Maria Ressa, Chay Hofilena, and Josh Villanueva. They can be seen on Rappler. I met them during the Sibya 2012 that was held in SM Cinema 2, Cagayan de Oro City. They talked about "Social Media for Social Change." :)

What I like about Pat is her intelligence in writing stories that really came from her heart. This essay was her winning piece during the speech competition in London (2004). She is from the University of the Philippines Diliman. If you have doubts in working abroad then this essay is really for you. :)

The essay is entitled Blonde and Blue eyes Check it out and learn something from it!

perfect!!! :)

PREMARITAL SEX

During our Intercultural Communication subject we were given a task to make a topic that focused on the different cultures, then we presented it to the class. And since premarital sex was the topic that I chose, and also my topic during our creative writing activity, so I decided to post it and share it as part of my entry for this week.

Premarital sex is an act that deals with having sex before marrying. Filipinos tend to over-react with this kind of issue, because as we all know, Filipinos are born to be conservative in nature; back in the days, that “conservative” thing is accepted, but today it won't fit the idea that Filipinos are really like that. Seriously, a lot of youngsters are engaging into this kind of act, some are even doing it secretly. According to a study by the UP population Institute, one out of four Filipinos aged 15-24 are engaging in premarital sex. See? Almost all Filipinos are doing such. In the Philippines, this issue is really high. This is somehow embarrassing to think that the Philippines is said to be a Christian country. It seems like Filipinos adapted the behaviour of the people in U.S. Almost all Americans have sex before marrying, according to premarital sex research that such behavior is the norm in the U.S., and has been for the past 50 years. Yes! We know the thing about the Americans; they are really liberated compared to the Filipinos. And their behavior has been for decade, while Filipinos somehow adapted with this kind of behavior.

There are reasons of why people engage in premarital sex. One is the media, which is a great factor that leads to a high frequency of the said act. Another is the social networking sites, majority are into social world, even little kids has a Facebook account, to think that they are still underage. Everyone has the power to access the different sites. Social networking sites and so media has also a negative effect on the users and viewers as well. It doesn't just focus on the issues of today, but also the things that shouldn't be seen by the people.

For girls, in order to be respected by the males, we should also learn to respect ourselves. :)
